Spleenlab x AUDI AG & BrigkAIR – Drone Assisted Driving

In December 2023, Spleenlab tested a completely new concept in the field of autonomous mobility for the first time. At the premises of BrigkAIR, a start-up incubator in Ingolstadt, ideas and proposals for the technical implementation were concretised and finalised by a team of engineers and creative minds.

The finished concept was presented to a selected audience of managers from AUDI AG and BrigkAIR. During the subsequent flight demonstration on the BrigkAIR premises, the fully automated precision landing of a medium-sized drone on the roof of a vehicle was demonstrated, which you can also see in the video.

The entire landing process is controlled by Spleenlab’s AI-based VISIONAIRY® Safe Precision Landing software, enabling a fully autonomous flight with maximum accuracy during take-off and landing.

The combination of car and drone opens up a new field of potential application scenarios. This successful test marks only the first milestone and paves the way for even more intensive collaboration to develop assisted driving with drones for very specific areas of application.
